Gear Pump Supplier in India: Bucher, Casappa and Rexroth High Pressure Gear Pumps

Gear pumps do the unglamorous work in hydraulics. They are fixed displacement, mechanically simple, tolerant of contamination that would destroy a piston pump, and cheap enough that most plants keep a spare on the shelf. As a gear pump supplier in India, Yashvi Hydraulics ships more of these by unit count than any other pump type.

This guide covers the difference between external and internal gear designs, the main series Yashvi Hydraulics supplies, and how to specify one correctly.

External versus internal gear pumps

External gear pumps

Two meshing gears in a close-fitting housing. Fluid is carried around the outside of each gear from inlet to outlet. Simple, robust, inexpensive, and available in single, double and triple stacks driven from one shaft.

Trade-off: they are noisier than other designs and pressure ripple is higher. For power packs, mobile equipment and general industrial duty that rarely matters.

Internal gear pumps

An inner gear rotates inside a larger outer ring gear. The meshing action is gradual rather than abrupt, which makes these pumps markedly quieter and gives much lower pressure ripple. They also generally handle higher pressure and give better volumetric efficiency.

Trade-off: more expensive. Specified where noise matters (indoor machinery, test rooms, hospitals, plastics plants running continuously) or where pressure requirements exceed what an external gear pump will take.

The series Yashvi Hydraulics supplies

Bucher QX internal gear pumps

Swiss-made internal gear pumps known for very low noise and high pressure capability. The QX series covers a broad displacement range and is widely specified on presses, plastics machinery, lifts and test equipment where acoustic performance matters.

Yashvi Hydraulics is a Bucher pump supplier in India handling the QX range along with Bucher motors and power unit components. These are premium units and priced accordingly, so we will tell you honestly when an external gear pump would do the job.

Casappa PLP and Magnum series

Italian external gear pumps. The PLP (Polaris) series covers PLP10, PLP20 and PLP30 frame sizes, and the Magnum range extends the pressure and displacement envelope. Very common on agricultural machinery, tippers, cranes and mobile equipment.

As a Casappa pump supplier, Yashvi Hydraulics quotes PLP singles, doubles and triples along with the mounting and shaft variants.

Rexroth AZPF external gear pumps

The Rexroth external gear family, with AZPF as the core series and AZPG, AZPS, AZPB and AZPN covering different frame sizes and pressure classes. Available in multi-stack configurations. Yashvi Hydraulics supplies AZPF as part of our wider Rexroth range.

Parker PGP and PGM series

Parker’s external gear pump and motor family, widely used on mobile and industrial equipment. Yashvi Hydraulics quotes PGP alongside the Parker Denison vane range for customers standardising on one brand.

Comparison

Series Type Noise Best suited to
Bucher QX Internal gear Very low Presses, plastics, lifts, test rooms, indoor machinery
Casappa PLP / Magnum External gear Moderate Agricultural, tippers, cranes, mobile equipment
Rexroth AZPF External gear Moderate Power packs, presses, material handling
Parker PGP External gear Moderate Mobile and general industrial

How to specify a gear pump correctly

  1. Displacement in cm³ per revolution. Flow in litres per minute equals displacement times rpm divided by 1000, less volumetric losses. At 1440 rpm a 16 cm³ pump gives roughly 22 litres per minute.
  2. Working pressure. Specify your continuous pressure, not the peak. Running an external gear pump continuously at its intermittent rating shortens life sharply.
  3. Rotation. Clockwise or anticlockwise viewed on the shaft end. Most gear pumps are not reversible without an internal change.
  4. Mounting flange. SAE A, SAE B, European four-bolt or a proprietary pattern.
  5. Shaft. Splined, keyed or tapered, with the correct diameter and length.
  6. Ports. Thread type and size, and their orientation relative to the mounting.

Send those six items to Yashvi Hydraulics with the old pump’s model code and we will confirm an exact match or a safe equivalent.

Why gear pumps fail

Gear pumps are tolerant, not immortal. The common failure modes are:

Unlike vane pumps, gear pumps are generally not economic to rebuild in the field. When one is worn, replacement is normally the right call, and our hydraulic pump range covers the alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Yashvi Hydraulics an authorised Bucher distributor?

No. Yashvi Hydraulics is an independent supplier, dealer and importer. We source Bucher QX units through our import channels and also supply tested-compatible alternatives, stating clearly on the quotation which you are buying. Ask any supplier claiming authorised distributor status to show you the authorisation letter.

Internal or external gear pump for my application?

If noise is a complaint or your pressure requirement is above what an external gear pump comfortably handles, go internal. Otherwise external is the sensible economic choice. Yashvi Hydraulics will give you a straight recommendation rather than defaulting to the more expensive option.

Can I replace a Casappa pump with a Rexroth AZPF?

Frequently yes, provided displacement, pressure rating, rotation, mounting flange, shaft and ports line up. Send both the original code and photographs of the installation to Yashvi Hydraulics.

What is the highest pressure a gear pump will take?

It depends entirely on series and frame size. Good external gear pumps handle 250 to 280 bar continuous; quality internal gear pumps go higher. Beyond that you are into piston pump territory.

Do you supply gear pumps to Dubai?

Yes. Yashvi Hydraulics ships gear pumps regularly to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Jebel Ali, and to Dammam and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.
