How to Verify an Authorised Hydraulic Pump Supplier in India (and What to Check Before You Buy)
Search for a hydraulic pump supplier in India and you will find dozens of firms describing themselves as authorised dealers or authorised distributors of Bosch Rexroth, Parker, Yuken, Eaton Vickers or Bucher. A significant number of those claims do not survive a phone call to the manufacturer.
This matters, because “authorised” is the word buyers use as a shortcut for “safe to buy from”. If the claim is false, the shortcut fails. Yashvi Hydraulics has written this guide because we would rather compete on what we actually deliver than on a label.
What “authorised” actually means
An authorised distributor has a written agreement with the manufacturer. That agreement typically gives them factory pricing, warranty authority, technical support, and territory rights. It also imposes obligations: stock commitments, trained staff, sales targets and reporting.
Manufacturers publish their authorised channel. Bosch Rexroth, Parker, Danfoss and the others all list distributors on their own websites, and they actively police unauthorised use of the term because it damages their channel.
How to verify a claim in five minutes
- Ask for the authorisation letter or certificate. A genuine distributor has one and will send it without hesitation. Check the date, because agreements lapse.
- Check the manufacturer’s own distributor locator. Every major brand publishes one. If the firm is not listed for your territory, they are not authorised for it.
- Email the manufacturer’s India office directly. One line asking whether a named firm is an authorised distributor. They answer.
- Look at how the claim is worded. “Authorised distributor” is a specific claim. “Supplier”, “dealer”, “stockist”, “trader” and “importer” are not, and firms using those words are being accurate rather than evasive.
- Ask what warranty they carry and who honours it. An authorised distributor processes warranty through the manufacturer. An independent supplier carries their own, which is fine as long as it is stated in writing.
Where Yashvi Hydraulics stands
Yashvi Hydraulics is an independent supplier, dealer, importer, exporter and trader of industrial hydraulic components. We are not an authorised distributor for Rexroth, Parker, Bucher, Danfoss or any other manufacturer, and we do not describe ourselves as one.
What we do have, since 2020:
- Direct import relationships with sources in Germany, the USA, Taiwan, China and Japan, so parts are traceable
- Deep stock across the fast-moving series: Rexroth A-series, Tokimec SQP, Eaton Vickers V and VQ, Yuken PV2R
- Technical selection support to match displacement, pressure rating, control type, mounting and shaft to your machine
- A written statement on every quotation of whether the item is genuine or tested-compatible
- In-house export packing and documentation
- 12-month warranty on cartridge kits, and stated warranty terms on everything else
We think that is more useful to a maintenance engineer than a label. You are welcome to disagree and buy through the authorised channel — for some critical applications that is genuinely the right call.
Genuine, compatible, and the third category to avoid
| Category | What it is | When it makes sense |
|---|---|---|
| Genuine OEM | Manufactured by the brand named on the unit | Presses, marine, test rigs, anything where downtime is very expensive |
| Tested-compatible | Made by a known manufacturer to fit and perform as the original, with traceable specification | General industrial machinery on moderate duty |
| Unbranded copy | No traceability, no published specification, no real warranty | Never. These fail early and take the circuit with them. |
The middle category is where most of the Indian market actually operates, and there is nothing wrong with it provided the supplier tells you that is what you are buying. The problem is suppliers selling category three while describing it as category one.
Eight questions worth asking any hydraulic supplier
- Is this item genuine OEM or compatible? Put it in writing on the quotation.
- What is the warranty period, and who honours it?
- Is it in stock now, or is that a lead time you are estimating?
- Can you confirm the control type and rotation from my nameplate code, not just the frame size?
- What happens if it arrives and does not fit?
- Can you supply the matching cartridge kit, filter element and seals for the same job?
- Do you handle export documentation, if I need it shipped overseas?
- If I send photographs of an unreadable nameplate, will you identify the unit?
A supplier who answers all eight without hedging is worth buying from, authorised or not. Yashvi Hydraulics answers all eight on every enquiry.
Buying hydraulic parts online in India
More buyers are sourcing hydraulic parts online rather than through traditional counter sales. That is efficient, but it removes the physical inspection step, so the checks above matter more, not less.
Practical advice for online purchase:
- Never order from a listing that shows only a stock photograph and a brand name with no series or model detail
- Insist the quotation names the exact model code you will receive, not just “compatible with”
- Confirm rotation and shaft type in writing before payment
- For anything above a modest value, ask for a photograph of the actual unit and its nameplate before despatch
Do not forget the spares that go with the pump
A pump replacement done properly is never just a pump. As an industrial hydraulic spare parts supplier, Yashvi Hydraulics supplies the rest of the job:
- Filter elements — suction, pressure, return and breather. Fitting a new pump into unfiltered oil is the fastest way to fail it. As a filter element supplier in India we hold a range of micron ratings interchangeable with major OEM part numbers.
- Cartridge kits — restore a worn vane pump instead of replacing it, where the housing is sound
- Pump shafts — a wear groove under the seal will leak again within weeks if you reuse it
- Lubrication units and metering cartridges — for the mechanical side of the same machines
The full product range covers pumps, valves, kits, filtration and accessories.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Yashvi Hydraulics an authorised Rexroth pump supplier in India?
No, and we will not claim to be. Yashvi Hydraulics is an independent supplier, dealer and importer of genuine and tested-compatible hydraulic components. We state on every quotation which category an item falls into, and we carry stated warranty terms. If you specifically require purchase through the authorised channel, Bosch Rexroth publishes its distributor list.
Does buying from an independent supplier void my machine warranty?
It depends on your machine warranty terms, not on hydraulics generally. On machinery still inside its OEM warranty period, check the terms first. On out-of-warranty equipment, which is the great majority of installed plant in India, it is not an issue.
How do I know a “genuine” part is actually genuine?
Ask for the nameplate photograph of the actual unit before despatch, check the casting quality and finish on arrival, and compare the model code character by character. Genuine units have consistent nameplate stamping and clean castings. Yashvi Hydraulics is happy to send photographs before shipping.
What is the difference between a dealer, a distributor and a stockist?
In practice these words are used loosely in India. “Authorised distributor” is the only one with a specific contractual meaning. Yashvi Hydraulics uses supplier, dealer, importer, exporter and trader, which describe what we do without implying a manufacturer agreement we do not hold.
Can you supply if I only have a photograph of the pump?
Usually yes. Send photographs from the shaft end, the port face and the cover, plus the machine make and model. Yashvi Hydraulics identifies units from casting features regularly, and we will confirm the model before you commit to anything.
Request a Quote From Yashvi Hydraulics
Send the model code stamped on your pump, valve or motor to Yashvi Hydraulics and we will confirm availability, price and lead time. If the nameplate is corroded or unreadable, send photographs of the unit from the shaft end and the port face along with details of the machine, and our team will identify it for you.
